What it is
Movements involving providers of capital: borrowings raised or repaid, shares issued or bought back, dividends paid.
How to read it
It says who funds whom. Negative, the company is returning money (repayments, buybacks, dividends); positive, it's raising it.
What it does not tell you
A positive figure is neither good nor bad per se: raising funds for a profitable project differs radically from borrowing to plug a hole.
