Relative Strength Index
RSI 14d
What it is
The 14-day RSI measures the speed and magnitude of recent price moves. It runs from 0 to 100. It's a momentum oscillator — it tells you if the stock is "running hot" in one direction.
How to read it
RSI above 70 suggests the stock has rallied too fast and a correction is likely (overbought). Below 30 suggests it has dropped too much and a bounce is likely (oversold). Between 40 and 60 is neutral.
Common reference points
- Oversold — bounce likely< 30
- Weak30 – 45
- Healthy45 – 65
- Elevated65 – 70
- Overbought — correction likely> 70
Orders of magnitude, not a rule: the same number does not mean the same thing from one sector to the next.
What it does not tell you
RSI can stay overbought for a very long time in strong uptrends (and vice versa). It never tells you how long a trend will last. Use it as an alertness signal, not a buy/sell decision.
